Moderný Domov
(Modern House)
Roman had long envisioned designing a contemporary home that combined high performance with low maintenance—a house built to stand the test of time without the upkeep of traditional materials. This project brings that vision to life, using MSI rock veneer, Longboard metal siding, and traditional stucco, eliminating the need for wood trim and the maintenance that comes with it.

Beyond aesthetics, this home is designed for efficiency and longevity. A full spray foam insulation system ensures top-tier energy performance, while Blue Skin 100 acts as an advanced vapor barrier, sealing the home from moisture and drafts. Solar panels and EV chargers integrate sustainability into everyday living. Inside, quartz countertops and Italian tile flooring in the bathrooms reflect a commitment to clean design and lasting durability, while radiant heating brings quiet, even warmth throughout.
Built to Last

Unique Flow
The upside-down floor plan is designed for both privacy and flow. The lower level hosts two bedrooms, a living space, entertainment area, and office, while the upper level is dedicated to the master suite, TV room, and a workspace with expansive Carmel Valley views.

A Modern Entrance
But the true showstopper? The floating staircase. As soon as you walk through the door, you’re met with a striking 20-foot ceiling and a staircase that seems to defy gravity—an architectural statement that ties together the home’s modern, intentional design.
